You did not say which Macintosh you are using - if it was made in the last 2-3 years, you should be fine.

You need to download, install and use StreamClip to convert the very highly compressed MPEG2 video this flash memory camcorder captures...

Go to apple.com, click on downloads, search "streamclip" click the "MPEG2 Streamclip" link... it is free.

After the file is converted, quict StreamClip, launch iMovieHD, select DV or DV widescreen (whichever you shot in the camcorder), name the file, select the hard drive storage location... when the iMovieHD editing window appears, drag the converted file to the clips pane or the timeline... the import will take some time.
