What is a good quality camcorder that is compatible with a Windows XP computer, and downloads onto the computer fast (and if possible, through USB).

If you can provide link, I would appreciate it.

Windows Movie Maker is actually designed for any camcorder you can attach with Firewire. This includes the Digital8, miniDV, and HDV models. WMM will capture vide directly from Digital8 and miniDV camcorders, and WMM cam capture video from an HDV camcorder when it is recorded or exported in HD.

WMM can import and edit files from a camcorder that uses USB if you can get the video off of the camcorder in an SD format that WMM recognizes such as wmv or avi . Owners of hard disc drive (HDD) are having problems getting video off of their HDD camera. Even if they can get it off, it is not in a format WMM recognizes.

If you still decide to get an camcorder that uses USB, you will need to upgrade your video editing software to Sony Vegas Platinum or Pinnacle Studio Plus for less then $100
