Question:

Camcorder Question[Please Help]?

I got a Panasonic Palmcorder IQ a few years ago for christmas, and I know it's slightly outdated but it has pretty much every thing I want in a camera, I just want to know if there is any way to get something you recorded on the tape onto your computer. There is a small hole that says A/V out that you can plug cords into. So basically my question is: Is there any way I can get the video onto my computer?

**P.S. I know it's outdated but I dont want to buy a new one unless it's absolutely nessecary.

Thank you

  1. try hooking up a USB cord to it

  2. You need to connect the A/V to your PC via some sort of analog / digital converter.  The Canopus ADVC range is good, but you can get very reasonable results with the Kworld Professional DVD Maker USB (it's not called "Professional" in the US though) or the Pinnacle Dazzle.  I think the Kworld is the better option because it gives you more choice of video formats to capture in.

  3. you can go to sites that have reviews for panasonic like http://digitalcameras.fateback.com. From here you can get links that lead to panasonic camcorder reviews

  4. You need a video card that will accept a/v output

  5. Mine is outdated too, but I can record onto a VCR tape.  I would think that if you can record onto a VCR tape, that you can record onto a DVD through your computer.  Read the manual, I'm sure it will say something about recordings.  You won't know unless you try it.  Good luck.
