Camcorder keeps ejecting tapes?

Question

Ive got an old 8mm camcorder..a UC200e.

Havn't used it in almost 5 years, just tried putting in a tape, it thinks about it but then throws the tape back out, i really need it to work, these tapes have alot of memories on them =(

does anyone have any ideas what i can do?

I can't really say why it's doing that, but if I were you, I'd take the tapes to a local video/photo company and have them transfer it to a DVD or even better, if you have one, to an iPod or other external hard drive as a file so you can edit the video yourself. 8mm is a pretty old format now, and even if you get it work, your camera will break down eventually. If you get the tapes digitized now, you won't have to worry about further degradation. Hope this helps!
