  1. it will definitely be standard definition.

    check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard-de...

    for the resolutions

it will record at mpeg2 compression

  2. Well firstly FILM doesn't come into it... Film is a mechanical medium, video is something else.....

The resolution of ANY video signal is limited by the system in use. i.e. PAL is 720 pixels wide by 576 high, or a little over 0.4 Megapixels...  HDTV 1920X1080  ...just over 2 Megapixels...

Quickly looking up the camera all I can find is that it records in MPEG to 'DVD Quality'  if it's a PAL (European) camera you're looking at that's 720X576@25fps ...SO just under half (0.4) a megapixel!

Having said that the megapixel count is pretty much meaningless in terms of video cameras and not something you should be getting bogged down with....

  3. the file format will br highly compressed, normally mp4, so the quality wont be that good, for a few pounds more you can get a good Mini dv camera where the format is pure digital and when you capture it to your pc it will be as good  as you can get.

you can get cheap cameras today that have 5MP+ far more than a video camera (true difinition) Horses for courses video for video and camera for stills

    Good luck Tod
