Camcorder mini disc dvd-r formatted, all footage gone!!!!? (i think)?

Question

help peeps!!! my daughter was recently in a world tournament & i cam corded the event. went to watch the disc on my laptop & msg came up about formatting it i accidentally clicked yes & quickly attempted to stop it. it didn't respond straight away & when i eventually did it was 18% complete. I put disc back into camcorder & it says incompatible disc (gulp) & it won't play on PC. HELP!!! what have I done & can it be rectified/retrieved if ye how???? thanks in advance for any helpful advice

Unfortunately, DVDs aren't formatted the same way as memory cards and hard drives, so the normal data recovery tools don't work.  Try IsoBuster.

it can be retrived dude, even tho it's bin formatted it dont get rid of all the information. you need to get retrival software try www.download.com or get someone to retrive it for you

all is not lost; goto download.com and search for file recovery software, install it ands let it do its thing;

ive recovered files from corrupt digital camera memory and fixed hard drives without any effort. all you lose is the original filename, it even retains the exif data.

look for pandora file recovery, or recuva...
