Camcorder problems?

i want to put all my camcorder tapes on my pc but i don,t no how to i tried to download the dvd that came with it but it will not do it can anybody help me

First you need to capture the film from the tape onto the pc. you can either do it via USB of Firewire. you need to check you pc to see if it has a firewire connection.

if you only have usb then that is what you have to use.  

plug it into the camera and into the usb port of you pc. it will ask you for the drivers, use the disk that came with the camera and try to install it from that. but if it doesnt work, then get the drivers from the camera website.

open widows movie maker and select import video it will puck up your camera and off you go..

with very limited info, i'l try to guess - you have a miniDV vcam. If so, here goes:

a miniDV vcam must be FIREWIRE400**-connected to pc to upload video thru video capture or video editing* software while vcam is ON PLAYBACK.  Note: DV or Firewire port of vcam is 4pin.

Before cable purchase** (Vcam/4pin=>firewireCABLE=>PC (4/ 6pin?), check DV or firewire port of PC whether 4 or 6 pin. If none, procure firewire card: pci for pc or pcmcia for laptop.
