I would like to buy this camera, but I am doing my research 1st on it. I was wondering if anyone here has this camera and if you do, could you please post a video on you tube of a zoom test for the 40x optical zoom, and then one for the 2000x digital zoom of maybe a plane in the sky from where you stand, and anything else you can tell me about the camera would be great. Please help me out, I want to make a good decision as I am buying this for my 2 boys. It is for their 1st trip to DisneyLand.

Please post the link here. I will give you 10 pts. for helping me out. I would give you more, but I don't know how people do that with their points :)

Thanks

  1. Buy a mini DV or a hard drive camcorder. They are easier to edit on a PC. They also store more video than a 20 minute mini-DVD. See the link below>>>

  2. I wouldn't use either a DVD or a hard drive camcorder.  The quality of DVD camcorders is poor and hard drive camcorders are too fragile.  I'd stick with MiniDV.  Ignore the digital zoom figures - they're meaningless.  Optical zoom figures are a bit better but shouldn't be high on your list of criteria unless you absolutely need to video from way back.

  3. I am a teenager and just bought one for my birthday. Mine has space for a DVD, certain type of memory stick, and a USB port to add the videos to my laptop. I love the compact size [my technologically-disabled mom is amazed]  and the touchscreen. The long battery life is also a plus. I highly recommend it.
