It is difficult to say, but if you want a pro camcorder, I would recommend the Sony DCR-VX2100 or the Sony DSR-PD170. They are both around $2,500 (which is a fair price for professional camcorders). The reason for these models in particular is that they are famous for being excellent in low light conditions. You can get good shots in dark rooms, at dusk and other dark situations without having the picture washing out. I would think good low light capabilities would be necessary for travel, or on-the-go situations. They also have exceptional shutter speed capabilities, which means you can record fast action!
