Camcorder wont playback

Question

hi I have a samsung vp-w80u camcorder
my problem is that although i know that there's definately something on the tapes i'm trying to playback on it, there's no visual or audio on any of them it doesn't playback when connected to the tv either I've tried recording new stuff and although i can see what I'm recording at the time it doesn't playback either all i have is a snowy screen please can you help me?
