  1. Sony handy cam HDR-SR11 60GB, hard Drive Camcorder is #1

Canon VIXIA HF100 FDHC Flash memory Camcorder is #2.

    Sony Handycam HDR-SR12 120GB Camcorde is #3

  2. don't know what top 3 brands are but i would go for the new jvc 30gb hard drive for around £280 no tapes cd or memory cards to use and plugs straight into usb on your pc.

  3. i reckon the sony handycam range they do what it says on the box!  jvc is not bad and canon is good.

    3. Canon Camcorder,  please see more details and read review from many user here. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/redirect.html...

  5. Top three; Panasonic, Sony, Canon.

Best value for money is subjective. Whats your budget?

What do want out of your camera as far as end result and features, ie; what can you work with??

I've shopped some and asked myself these same questions as I am also in the market.

Format for most cameras is typically tape. Mini's are taking SD.

Most of the high end are going AVCHD but the technology still needs some refinement in the conversions.

HD format seems to be favored overall. There are hybrids also which I personally find favorable. I would make a determination based upon these factors, a) budget,b) use and where you intend to use (atmospheric pressure seems to affect some formats more adversely, c) picture quality and transferability.

Since DVD becomes write protected and tapes will likely go to wayside in the future as SS drives, SD and other portable formats become larger.

I would avoid DVD and consider a hybrid or HD.

  6. I'm not sure, but you can try Canon :)

    It always worked for me.
