Came IodaRacing Project unveil their 2013 MotoGP bike in Italy – MotoGP news
In an official unveiling ceremony held at the Came IodaRacing Project factory in Italy, the CRT MotoGP team revealed their 2013 bike.
Italian rider Danilo Petrucci and Czech rider Lukas Pesek will be the IodaRacing teammates in 2013. In 2012, Petrucci was one of a very few CRT riders who ran in all 18 Grand Prix rounds.
The Italian clinched 27 championship points and finished his debut MotoGP season 19th on final riders’ standings. Petrucci expressed high hopes for future and thanked Giampiero Sacchi, the Ioda boss, for his confidence in Petrucci.
“I wish to thank IodaRacing, Suter and BMW for their support and their hard work. I wish to say that I am doing my very best and I will keep on doing it, and hope we will be rewarded with
the results we all deserve,” Petrucci said.
Pesek, Danilo’s Ioda teammate will be making a return to the MotoGP arena after 2 years of absence. His last Grand Prix race was 2010 San Marino and Rimini’s Coast Grand Prix in the Moto2
class.
“It will be a very a hard season, not only because I am returning to the World Championship after two years. I am doing my best to be in perfect shape for Sepang and am very
excited to test my Ioda Suter. Anyhow I am facing this season with great enthusiasm and full commitment,” Pesek said.
In 2013, only Ioda will be running the the Suter-BMW bike after Forward Racing’s decision to switch to FTR-Kawasakis. But Ioda will have two bikes on the track instead of one because of Pesek’s
addition to the team.
The upcoming season will be Ioda’s second consecutive MotoGP season under the CRT rule. Petrucci is bound to put in his best efforts and skills to improve on his 2012 performance and at least
post a few podiums for the team.
IodaRacing Project are the third team to have unveiled their 2013 MotoGP bike, Honda and Cardion AB Motoracing being the first two. It remains to be seen how the bike performs and how well
the Ioda riders ride it when it is put to test at Sepang this week.
