Is it wierd to wear a camelbak or hydro pack while skiing? If it's ok, do you wear it on the inside or ouside of your parka?

  1. I wear one all the time and I'm on snow about 6 hours a day.  I wear it under my parka so it won't hang up on the chair and it won't show when I'm teaching.  I only half fill it every morning, since I don't need that much water in a day, or I can refill it.

  2. It's not that weird.  It's just resourceful.

Where I'd wear it would depend on what kind it is.  If it looks like a backpack and acts like a backpack and the water won't freeze in it then wear it outside.  If it's just a tiny bladder then I'd keep it inside.

  3. I'm a fat b*****d and I have to wear mine outside of my jacket. I envy you skinny people who can wear one under your coats.

Actually, mine is in a much larger pack too...it wouldn't fit under my coat even if I was a size "M".

I only wear mine in the backcountry or at big resorts where it's a pain to get back to the lodge. 9-out-of-10 times I can usually hit the lodge and get a drink pretty fast and get back outside without losing too much time when I'm at smaller places.

  4. its a great idea! stay hydrated, and if you fall it cushions you! i would wear it on the outside, it's more of a fashion statement that way. -blurey

  5. not at all i see a lot of people wearing those but is its like tiny then u mite as well keep it under your coat

  6. its ok but mine all ways freezes in the hose and it cracks
