Camelot to land a majestic victory in the Qipco 2,000 Guineas Stakes at Newmarket
The 204th running of the Qipco 2,000 Guineas Stakes (British Champions Series) is one of the exciting and entertaining races of the year, scheduled to take place at Newmarket on 5th May.
Trainers and owners have been diligently working on their runners in order to prepare them for this race.
Among this line-up, it is difficult to decide the potential winners, but Camelot and Trumpet Major stand out the most.
Trumpet Major, trained by Richard Hannon, will be mounted by jockey, Richard Hughes, returning after a 50-day ban.
The three-year-old colt has delivered some impressive performances in the past, and would be aiming to emerge victorious in this race as well.
The son of Arakan, out of mare Ashford Cross, recently bagged a victory the Novae Bloodstock Insurance Craven Stakes at Newmarket on 19th April, 2012, when he defeated Crius by 5 lengths - the fourth victory of his career.
The fact that this victory took place at Newmarket adds to his odds of winning today.
Camelot, trained by Aidan O’Brien will be breaking from post 12.
The three-year-old colt shown a tremendous degree of promise, as he scored in both of his career starts, where he was mounted by rider, J.P. O'Brien.
The son of Montjeu, out of mare Tarfah, raced as a favourite with a shot of 1 to 3.
He brought all his might to the track and defeated, All Approved,  by two lengths in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund 2yo Maiden at Leopardstown on July, 2011.
Owned by D. Smith, Mrs. J. Magnier, and M. Tabor, the bay colt showed the same fervour in the  Racing Post Trophy (Group 1), as he raced with a winning shot of 10 to 11 defeating, Zip Top by 2 ¼ lengths at Doncaster on 22ndOctober, 2011.
Camelot is stirring immense attention from the market, and it is speculated that he might be able to land the victory, but Trumpet Major and other talented runners will definitely be an obstacle in his way.
