Camelot’s connections concerned about the conditions at Newmarket for Qipco 2,000
Camelot’s connections are slightly concerned about the conditions of the track at Newmarket, where the three-year-old colt will compete in the Qipco 2,000 Guineas, which is scheduled to take place on 5th May, 2012.
The Aidan O’Brien trained colt has competed in two starts and emerged victorious from both of them. If he succeeds in this, he will complete a hat-trick right in the beginning of his career.
Jockey Joseph O’Brien complimented the brisk pace and agility of the runner as he stated to the press that:

"He has a high cruising speed and ticks the right boxes. I'd be hoping he'd run a nice race. I have to have a question mark over the ground. He's a very good moving horse and won both starts last year on good ground."
"The ground at the weekend is an unknown, but we won't know until he goes and does it. He seems to have wintered well and we're looking forward to it. He's come to hand fairly quickly and he's ready for his first run of the year."
Camelot, owned by D. Smith, Mrs. J.Magnier and M.Tabor, has stirred a significant amount of attention from the market because of his stellar form.
The son of Montjeu, out of mare, Tarfah, started his racing career as a favourite with a winning shot of 1 to 3, and emerged triumphant from the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund 2yo Maiden, where he defeated the P.D. Deegan trained, All
Approved under jockey Joseph O’Brien at Leopardstown on 14th July, 2011.
Whelped on 5th March, 2009, the colt bagged a massive victory over, Zip Top, in the Racing Post Trophy (Group 1) at Doncaster on 22nd October, 2011.
Abtaal, who is trained by J-C Rouget  for owner, Hamdan Al Maktoum, will also be competing in this race.

He will be aiming to secure another victory and add it to his record. Out of his four starts, the son of Rock Hard Ten, out of mare Appealing Storm, has bagged two victories and finished twice as a runner-up.
