How can I check the battery life on my Canon PowerShot SD750? Is there such a function or do I have to wait until the icon shows up telling me it's time to recharge the battery?

  1. http://www.needbattery.com/Digital-Camer...

buy a new one from there.

  2. The SD750 doesn't come with a battery meter. You can either do what you said and wait until it gets low enough to display the warning, or you can install a 3rd party firmware patch called CHDK (http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page ) that adds a battery meter among a huge number of other features. Getting the firmware onto the card is fairly advanced stuff, but it's possible. I've had it on mine for almost two months.

Alternately, just charge the battery early and often. It's a lithium ion. A dead SD750 battery will charge to 90% in the first 15 minutes, then trickle charge the final 10% over the next hour or so, so don't wait any longer than you think you have to. You can safely pull it while the LED is red.

    Good luck!
