The grey lock/unlock switch is on the "Unlock" position but when you put it in the computer SD card slot nothing happens (like, the computer can't read it.) I put the card in my camera and it said "Memory card error. Card locked!". Then I put it in the other camera (the one it's supposed to be in.) and it worked. The camera it worked in is a Canon Powershot SD87015 Digital ELPH. The card is a normal one bought from Circuit City.

  1. some cameras can not take a 4g card depending on the camera.  I would try a card with less memory like a 1 g or a 2 g and see and keep that card in the canon you should not switch out memory cards to different cameras.

  2. Each camera, in fact each model can only read the images that they take and save to the memory card.

If you wish to use the memory card on the other camera, you will probably have to format the card ... after you have copied all the images to your computer.

Since you did not tell us what your other camera brand and model number, we don't know exactly if your other camera will even use a SDHC card ... it could be that it doesn't.

  3. Most computer card readers and many cameras can't read anything larger than 2gigs. You may have to get new drivers for your computer and the other camera may not be able to use it at all.

  4. This can be due to several other problems too! Copy all the existing data to your computer using your camera’s (USB) data transfer cable. Insert your card in another camera and format it. This could make your card work on the new camera.
