Okayy; so i have this camera its a "Polaroid" i634 with 6 megapixels. I really have no clue what that means though. My problem is that every kind of batterys i get don't work! It needs AA's and I've tryed energizer; energizer max; duracel; lithium everything. So far the lithium energizer worked the best and the camera worked like i expected but then after i turned it off and tryed turning it back on again it wouldn't even turn on!! what the heck. idk help please is there something i'm doing wrong or is there a certin kind of battery type i need?

thanks for all answers.

  1. Forget about using the standard alkaline batteries like Duracell and Energizer in digital cameras.  They can't deliver the peak power needed, and why they gave you problems.

Lithium batteries are better, as you noted.  Below is a link to Polaroid's battery recommendation WWW page.  It states that "high quality" alkaline batteries are "good," but put them at the worst possible usable category. Polaroid favors lithium batteries as "better," and rechargeable  NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) batteries as the the best bet for your camera.

Based on my 5+ years experience with digital cameras and using rechargeable NiMH batteries, go that route.  I've seen a set of four cells, and an included charger, go for under $15 at Wal-Mart and some Dollar stores.  Well worth the investment, IMHO, and will save lots of money due to not spending money on disposable batteries for a long time.

NiMH batteries do have one issue, though.  They'll lose their much of their charge over a period of 3 or four weeks.  If you set your camera aside without using it much for days or weeks at a time, it'll be best if you remember to recharge them before taking a lot of pictures again.

    ---------------

If the batteries are a bit weak, and the camera is turned off and then turned on fairly quickly (say within a few seconds), then quite a few of the digital cameras I own(ed) will refuse to turn on as a way of saying "my batteries are dead."  Either turn off the camera again and wait a few minutes before turning back on, or put in fresher batteries....
