Camera Flash Pentax MZ7

Question

Hi, when I press the shutter button the camera flash makes a "ZZZzzzz.." sound and there is like a flash of light but not a normal flash . I have tried new batteries and it still does it. Batteries are cr2. If someone knows what's going on please let me know I am supposed to take photograpghs at a wedding tomorrow! :o)
