I am planning on buying one of these 2 cameras (link below)

I cannot however decide one which one. One is a Digital Slr and the other is just an ordinary digitial camera with the same amount of megapixcels.

What is the main difference between these two items?

also. I am a fan of macro shots and if i wanted to do macro shots this means that i could not look through the screen when i am taking the shot that i would have to bend down. to what ever the item is (ex. Flower) and look tthrought the viewfinder,

I am also just a beginer in photography so if you also have any ideas, tips or sugestions on a camera or photography please feel free to comment.

plz help.

thnx :D

  1. A digital SLR usually has interchangeable lenses.

  2. A dSLR is better, but of course will cost more. If you want a live view of the screen like on a Point and shoot digital cam, you will need a dSLR with 'live view' The Sony alpha A350 has it, and at this moment, it has the best working live view. Canon and Nikon offer it on some model, however their live view is a tad on the slow side

. If you are a fan of macro photography, you will need a true macro lens. Check around for prices. Most dSLRs are sold body only, no lens take that into account before you buy.

The 'macro' feature on most point and shoot digital cams will give good results. If you think photography could become a serious hobby, skip the little cam, get a dSLR but be prepared to pay, the hobby isn't cheap but the quality of photos will be worth the extra cost.

    For dSLRs look up

Pentax, Sony Alpha A300, A350, Canon Xsi, Nikon D60, all good places to start.

  3. A DSLR gives you a chance to expand. You can buy additional lens, filters and flash units where as a digital camera, with a built in lens, leaves you no chance to add on. Also, a digital slr affords you the ability to understand the mechanics of photography.

  4. The SLR allows for better adjustment of the lens and the focus of your shots.  A "regular" digital camera is auto-focus and picks the focus for you, which isn't always the best thing.

I would DEFINITELY go with the SLR.

  5. if i were you, i would go with the sony dsc-h10 or h5.

it's the best camera for starters.

  6. dSLR is always better, especially for taking true MACRO pictures, u really need a MACRO lens.  For dSLR you can switch lens, but for regular cameras, you stuck with same lens.

But for dSLR you may have to pay extra for different lens to fit your need.
