i just graduated highschool and wanted an opinion on what people could find more useful. i have a big thing for photography but a laptop would be more useful with communicating and school. i just like photography and an slr zoom lens and a wide angle seem nice. im kind of split between.

  1. I will have to agree with the other posts.  A laptop would probably be more useful, although both would be awesome to have.  It might depend though... For me right now a DSLR would be much more useful than a laptop.  My school has plenty of computers there and I have a computer at home, so if I need to email someone or do school work, a computer is never too far away.  Actually it might take longer to set up the laptop and turn it on than it would be too walk to one of the school computers and start working.  If your like me and you have computers close by all ready, go with the camera.  If not the laptop would be the best choice.  In the end I'm sure you'll get plenty of use out of either.

  2. The computer for sure ...  later you can always buy a little P&S ..

  3. Hi Nick...   It seems as though, from these answers,  is everyone is suggesting the lap top.   I am going to have to agree.  If you go to college.. the lap top is going to be a necessity... not a luxury.    The camera is very nice... sure... but it won't help you much with lessons or research.   Go with the lap top for now...  if you absolutely have to have a camera...  Think  XMAS present.  :))

  4. LAPTOP because you might need it on trips or college.

  5. If you're not going to be a photography major, then choose the laptop... that way you can do your research and write your papers at home rather than having to run to school to do it each time.

  6. I would get a laptop - mine has been invaluable in helping me through college. I love typing my notes in class, it really helps keep me organized (and I can type faster than I can write anyways). Plus, I always have easy entertainment and a way to work on any of my projects during any downtime I may have between classes. I really couldn't have made it through college as easily without it.
