Camera Pictures...?

Question

I have a Vivitar ViviCam5150s.

I have some pictures stored on the 1GB memory card...

But when I try to download the pictures to my computer, it's not finding my camera.

I've got a Windows XP computer.

My camera didn't even come with directions to download the pictures.

Please, please, I go to China in 1 WEEK, and I need to know if I have to get a new camera or not.

it might be the connection if your camera doesnt show any signs (lighting up, beeping, etc) of being plugged in when you plug it in.

HI XG Girl.   My suggestion to you is to GET ANOTHER camera!!!   This sounds like a very important trip for you and you don't want to go and come back with no memories.   Hurry out and try to find a Canon or Nikon camera that is in your price range.   Don't get the cheapest if you can afford the next model because as the saying is true... you get what you pay for.   Canons and Nikons are a very reputable pair of camera manufacturers.  I cannot stress enough that taking a Vivitar Camera with you on the trip of a lifetime might very well be the mistake of a lifetime.  Hope that helps  I am adding this:   Look for a memory card reader instead of depending on the cord to read and load your pictures to the computer.   Much smarter and you don't have to drain your battery while transfering.   ALSO you will need more 1GB cards....  maybe 3 or a larger card.... maybe 2 or 4 GB for the hundreds of pics you will be taking.    That's all for now.  :))  OOPS, I just thought of something else....    you should try to find one of the Canons or Nikons that use REGULAR batteries ... because...  the battery charges need to be plugged in in order to charge up your batteries, right?  Well electric outlets from other countries are not the same as here in the USA.   And then you would not be able to plug it in anywhere so taking a few boxes of regular batteries will keep you shooting.  Now...  Thats it.  :))
