Camera Question.... PLEASE HELP?

Question

Ok, I just got this DXG-506V video camera and on a 1 GB memory card, the space was filled up really quick!! I's asking if any of you know how many minutes for video or pictures for taking I can do with this video camera if I use a 1 GB memory card. Thanks so much!! Best answer gets 10 points!!!

also, I know that it says two hours of video with a 2GB card but how many pictures can I do if I don't want videos??

Every digital camera I've ever seen has a place where you can adjust the quality settings for still pictures.  By increasing or lowering the quality (or size) settings you can increase or lower the number of still pictures you can take.

For my camera, a Sony Cybershot DSC-N1, I can adjust those setting in an area called Image Size, and I can get 8M, 5M or 3M pictures.  The higher I go in quality, the fewer pictures I can take.  I have a 2GB memory card, and when I'm on the 8M setting (highest quality for my particular camera), I can take about 520 pictures.  When I'm on the 5M setting, I can take about 810 pictures.

With video, I believe I can get about 30 minutes per GB, so assuming I don't take any pictures, I should be able to get about an hour of video with the 2GB card.

Unfortunately, I can't tell how many pictures you can get with your camera, but I gave you the info on mine as a reference point, with the assumption that most cameras are about the same when it comes to memory.

I think the key phrase in the link is "UP TO two hours of video recording with a 2GB SD card" (my emphasis).  I'm assuming that this camera has different quality settings for video, just as B-Boy described them for stills.  I think you need to experiment with the quality settings - find out what meets your needs and then see how much space it uses.
