My camera is a Panasonic Palmcorder VHS (about 5 years old) and a 750x digital zoom and 20x hi-definition zoom. and on it says a digital image stabilization EIS. and i have the cord that plugs into the camera and computer (Windows 2000 professional). i want to get my videos on Windows Movie Maker and every time i try to capture the video it says :A video capture device was not detected, verify that a device is turned on and connected. but i know that everything is connected and the camera is on. so does it not work with camera or computer? or what am i doing wrong? i just want to capture the videos onto my computer. (also in the computer box it doesn't show that my camera is connected).

  1. Only digital files can be uploaded to a pc. Ur VHS vcam is analog so the video has to be converted first to digital.

  2. If you have an analog (VHS) camcorder…

You need an analog converter, either internal card or external such as the dazzle. It's very easy to use and come with good software. You would hook your analog VHS camera or VCR to the analog converter, the dazzle and then hook the dazzle to your PC. The dazzle cost around 70.00 , but worth the money if you have a lot of VHS to tapes to convert.

**Please Note There is no 8mm or Hi 8 to VHS Adapter that currently exsists. This type of VHS Adapter only exsists with VHS-C tape**
