Camera and lens help?

I have a nikon D60.If i change my lens will it reduce the noise in my pictures or will it be the same?

  1. Any thing you do to allow more light in will reduce noise. What you are looking to do is use a lower ISO#. A smaller apature and longer shutter time will help.


  2. Digital noise, the equivalent of grain in 35mm photography, is a direct result of pushing the limits of higher ISO settings.

    That being said, you can reduce the noise if you change to a lens that has a LARGER aperture.  That will allow you to shoot at a lower ISO at any given shutter speed.

    One tool that can help noise would be the use of a noise-reduction program.  Personally, I use Noiseware, but there are many free or inexpensive ones that you can find here.  Look under the digital photo tools area.

  3. it would probably be the same. and the niose in the pictures would be due to high ISO settings.

  4. "Noise in my pictures"? Not sure what you mean. But I'd guess there would be no change. I shoot 35mm myself.
