Question:

Camera battery too powerful? (olympus stylus)?

The stock battery in the Olympus Stylus 1030 is an "Li-50B 925mAh"

Is it okay to buy an "Li-50B 1200mAh" as a back up battery or will that damage the camera because of too much power.

The description of the battery I want to buy says it will work in the camera. But I don't want to eventually ruin the camera because a battery is too strong (1200mAh instead of 925mAh).

  1. Using a battery with a lager capacity will do no harm at all, the voltage is the same, the battery with the higher rating will just give you more running time between re-charges about 30% longer.

  2. I have recently learned these amps are like CCA - cold cranking amps. Therefore, 1200mAh will give you longer life without burning out your electronic device, providing the voltage is similar.

Thanks to Colin, for correcting me !
