Camera dropped in water, working... but?

I dropped my camera in water (not salt water).

I dried it out, it works really well, as in menu, screen, zoom thing comes out, buttons work, flash works, battery & memory card in great condition, and there is no water that i can see in the lens. But even though it takes the pictures, it only comes up black... like through the screen before i take it too. But the screen works fine because the menu and all that is working. And when i put them on my computer they are still just black.

Is there anything i can do?

  1. I'm not too sure, but it sounds like the water destroyed the camera sensor, the part that takes the data from the light and converts it into a photo. Or just some connectors could be damaged. You best bet for repair is probably to bring it to a third party repair centre and ask for a quote first, since the water damage voids your warranty.

Not sure where you are but there are quite a few in Vancouver and Richmond.

  2. Its dead. Call a priest, buy a new camera, use the strap to hold it at all times.
