Camera for beginninger filmaker?

What digital camera would you recommend me for...for starting out as a beginning film maker. I want it to work with Windows Movie Maker because that's all I have. Price range anywhere between $50-$150

or

What Camcorder? $100-$350

I just wnat it to have decent sound and picture that can go on myspace/youtube

  1. Your best bet is to buy a Canon mini-DV camera. They have a lot of features and will carry you a long was a beginner. Those cameras also have very sharp lenses and produce an excellent picture.


  2. Look for a camcorder that uses mini-DV tape.  You should be able to find one made by Canon, JVC, Panasonic or Sony for somewhere in the $300 + range.

    If you are serious about making "films", the a compact digital camera is only useful when making videos for places like YouTube.
