Camera for videos?

Question

ok.im 14 and and i am interested in making short clips with cool video effects...i have tried every possible way and program..nothing recognizes my digital camera videos. i transfer them using kodak and they play on the computer but like in WMM (windows movie maker) it doesnt recognize the format or anything..is there a way i can make all those software programs recognize it? i was thinking about buying a camera but it wood have to be like under 150 bucks. is there any camera that makes movies recognized by those programs? if so WHAT?? thank you

So tell us the camera model and maybe someone can help you with conversion to a format that can be used...
