Camera help???

Okay my camera is an Olympus 410 digital camera

it has 10.0 megapixel

I don't know if thats important

I can't figure out how to make it not flash. I turned off the flash but when i click halfway to focus it and then i press all the way down to take the shot, it flashes like a strobe light for like 3 min and then sometimes it doesnt even take the picture. I'm leaving on a trip in 2 days and i cant bring it all the way back right now so can anyone help me?

It shouldn't flash for three minutes.  I don't think I could make my camera do that if I tried.  My nly guess is that's it's broken or you got it stuck in some weird burst mode.
