Question:

Camera pics turn out too white?

It's a kodak 7.1 megapixel camera.

The problem is that inside my house, when I take pics with the flash it looks washed out & too white/bright, and it doesen't show the natural skin or anything [what I want]. It obviously takes good pics outside, though :p

If I remove the flash the pictures come out dark...

What should I do?

  1. You might be taking flash pictures too close.  Back off a bit and see if they improve.

  2. fix the flash

  3. does it have other settings like indoor or outdoor or any others?

  4. Call Kodak's help line and have them walk you through the re-set process.

It seems that the flash output has been accidently set to a + EV setting.  Some cameras can be set +/- 5 EV.

  5. For point-and-shoots, the flash tends to do that.  If you can back away from your subject and use the lens to zoom in, that helps.  You can also use tissue paper or Kleenex (white) as a diffuser.  It'll soften the flash output.  Or a piece of white plastic.

If your camera has the option, you can also adjust the intensity of the flash.  If you search for your camera's model on http://www.steves-digicams.com/hardware_... it might tell you whether your model has that feature.

  6. buy a new camera...sry to say it but u wasted ur money buying that kodak. the only thing i like about them is that they take pretty descent pictures outside. i worked at wolf camera for a long time and we had LOTS of ppl come in a complain about there kodaks. and we didnt even carry the kodak brand there. and look at all the questions on here...count all the ones that pertain to a kodak...there a reason we didnt sell them there.

  7. check the shutter time
