  1. Any DSLR with the right lens will do what you want. Realize though if you are renting a camera the photographer will not be familiar with that camera. This may cause some problems with them getting good shots of you. I will offer another suggestion. Go to sites like model mayhem or one model place and find photographers willing to do TFP or TFCD work with you. They will bring there own equipment so you do not have to rent it and its a win for both you and the photographer

  2. an HP and at least 8.1 mega ps but go higher if u can!

  3. All a 8x10 takes is about 1600x2000 pixels.... That is in the 3mp range.. Any camera that can produce at least 200 pixels per inch of photo you wanna make will do fine. DPI or Dot Per Inch mean NOTHING here. Absolutely nothing... Your digital camera and your printer do NOT see in the old fashion, newspaper printing world, of dots per inch...

Many people seem to get hung up on DPI (dots per inch) as a measure of quality of their digital photos. To set the record straight, DPI has NOTHING to do with digital image quality!. NOTHING...!

    Read - The DPI Myth @ http://www.rideau-info.com/photos/mythdp...

The term DPI (dots per inch) is misinterpreted by some to be a measure of digital image quality - but it has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of a digital image. Learn about what really makes up the quality of a digital photo and pass this info on...

So, as said .. any camera able to deliver 200 pixels per inch of photo (or more) that you want to make will deliver a good print... However, not a camera alone makes a photographer.

  4. It will take about 8 megapixels to give you a full 300dpi at 8x10". Any digital SLR should do a decent job. Get a medium telephoto zoom, so you can shoot somewhere in the 70 to 100mm focal length range. Open shade or bright overcast will give you the best light.

  5. I think a 5megapxl will do just fine. I have no recommended camera type. Just try not to take in full top down sunlight, it would cast shadows on your face and make you look squinted. Find somewhere shaded but bright.

  6. Well, heck, if you are going to rent then get yourself a Canon 5D or a Nikon D3.

A FF dSLR will produce a more attractive appearance to your skin. The graduations of tonality will be much smoother. Especially at 8x10"
