Camera "Lens Error"?

Question

I have a Nikon Coolpix 210 and every time i try to turn it on the lens zooms and goes back while making a sort of beeping sound and when it finally goes off it says 'lens error' in red. I don't know how to fix it. The camera is only about a month old

Lens errors of this kind are usually due to the lens being restricted from being extended due to user mishandling, such as accidently turning it on and hampering the extension of the lens, etc.

But, seeing as the camera is only a month old...you should return it and get a new one. Sometimes these faults are also a genuine camera fault, so take it back...
