I'm looking at buying a camera with a little bit of my summer work money....

One of the cameras that I am looking at is the Nikkon s--- i think 210 is the price area. I'm sure that it has some sort of external memory that you can insert, but i can't find it... is it xd, sd or some sort of other style?

Another camera that i'm looking at is the Olympus Stylus 830, it seems to be a really good deal and all, does anyone have any sort of comlaints with that one?

Is there a camera that you would suggest? My price range is trying to keep it under 170.

  1. Figure out what is most important to you, what sort of photos do you want to take? Then compare the features.

Point and shoot cameras all suffer from shutter lag, and are never all that great in low light (they all introduce much noise/grain on higher ISO levels).

Some of them give you much more manual control than others - is that what you want, or do you only shoot in standard conditions (with great light) where the Auto setting works quite well?

Do you want to do night time photography, things like fireworks or the streaming lights from cars driving past? Then you need a camera with bulb setting.

$170 will get you a basic point&shoot, don't expect miracles from it, but DO compare the features once you decided what is important to YOU.
