  1. Any camcorder that captures video and transfers that video to your computer will work.

That software you need "to connect strems of videos together and save them on the CPU" is called a video editor.

Consumer camcorders store video a couple of different ways.

Best video quality is with miniDV (Digital Video) tape based camcorders that computers import video using Firewire - also known as IEEE1394a or i.Link. Your computer needs a Firewire port. They are typically inexpensive and easy to install if your computer does not have one. If you are running a Macintosh, they have had Firewire ports for almost 10 years.

Next best are hard drive or flash memory camcorders. The digital video stream is compressed more than miniDV tape so quality is reduced. Getting video to your computer means copying video data files over USB. There can be codec issues depending on the type of vudeo you are trying to work with.

Worst are DVD based camcorders. Do not even consider one of these. That is all I will say about them

You will not save the video clips to your CPU - the Central Processing Unit is not storage. The computer's hard drive is the storage you will be working with when storing video to you computer.

Windows XP (SP2) and newer came bundled with MovieMaker.

Apple Macintosh OSX and newer came bundled with iMovieHD.

There are better, more powerful and feature rich editors available to buy.

Before buying a camcorder, think about what you want to capture to video. Will it be just "normal", everyday stuff? REALLY LOUD audio? Really soft audio? What is your budget? Be realistic. There is no good $150 camcorder. The low end for real camcorders starts at closer to $300. Then there is a jump to about $700. Then there is a BIG jump to about $3,000. There are big differences - and REALLY good reasons why the inexpensive ones are inexpensive and the expensive one are so expensive. DO NOT expect an inexpensive camcorder to do what an expensive one can do.

Once the video is in your computer, you can manipulate and compress it for uploading to the internet.
