Camera wont connect too PC (memory card not formatted) help?

basically my memory card on my nikon D40 (SD 2GB) randomly said card not formatted in the middle of my holiday photos. When I click 'format card' on the camera it says you have to delete everything on the card. When I connect it to the computer it cant find the camera. I have a macbook laptop. Help me!

  1. the only thing that you can do right now is use a card reader to format the sd card using a computer.


  2. the manual tells you to format the card before using it.
