I own a Minolta QT si 35 mm camera and I went to use it and the flash,keeps making a zapping noise like it wants to take a picture.But it won't work.I changed the batteries and no change.

I have the same problem.  When the flash is turned off it will take a picture, but when the flash is on it won't.  I have a canon powershot SD750
