Cameras going through security at airport?

I have a destination wedding coming up and for gifts I have cameras to pass out. They are in carryon luggage and I have 40 of them. THey take up one bag...is this going to be a problem with security? (We are going out of country)

  1. Nah it should be perfectly fine.  They'll scan them, but that won't harm them at all.  If it is a problem they'll jsut tell you to turn around and check them (which isn't a huge deal either).  But i don't see that being a problem at all.

  2. I dont know, your best bet is to try to take them with you.

  3. Why don't you mail them to the destination if you have time. That way you won't have to pay a fee at the airport either.

  4. it shouldnt be. I brought my digital camera on the plane with me when i went out of the country. I didnt see any signs against them.

  5. Digital cameras are ok through security. Cameras with film in them will be ruined.

  6. Do not put them in your checked luggage.  There are signs at the airport that state that the x-rays used on checked luggage can damage film.  I would suggest putting the cameras in large plastic baggies.  The machine used to check carryon luggage should not affect the film.  I'm not sure though if the amount you are carrying will be a problem.
