Cameras with transparent plastic casing?

I have a Ricoh FF-9s camera that has a totally transparent case.

does anyone know anything about this camera and transparent case cameras in general? Are they only for display purposes? are they collectable and worth anything? thankyou

  1. Transparent cameras were used as display pieces, usually at expositions. Only a couple of each camera model were made on special order for this purpose. They're not easy to obtain either as only dealers and company employees have access to them. These cameras should be fully functioning but most can't be used due to their transparent nature. I don't know about the collectability value and the Ricoh FF-9s is no particular gem but I'd say you have a pretty nice show piece in your hands.

    OT here but would you happen to be Heldur on RFF? They seem to have a better idea ;-)
