Cameron Mcevoy clinches 100m back-stroke title: Australia State Teams Age Group SC Championships
Day two of the 2011 Australia State Teams Age Group Short Course Championships began in thrilling fashion with the performance of Cameron Mcevoy in Canberra, Australia, on Sunday, September 18. The session of the meet conducted the Boys 16-17 years old 100m
back-stroke and Girls 13-14 years old 100m freestyle final events.
Cameron Mcevoy of Queensland hit the wall in 54.32 seconds to win the gold medal. Robert Gerlach of Queensland secured silver in a time of 55.09 seconds, while Jam Nettlefold of Victoria settled for bronze in a time of 55.29 seconds. In the corresponding
race, Ada Nettlefold of Victoria was placed fourth in a time of 55.72 seconds, whereas, Regan Leong of Queensland settled fifth with a stunning mark of 55.89 seconds.
Ryan h**e of New South Wales was placed sixth in a time of 56.32 seconds, while Jack Gerrard of Victoria earned seventh place honours in 56.42 seconds. Nichola Reekie of New South Wales finished eighth in a time of 56.89 seconds. Lennard Bremer of Western
Australia was placed ninth in a time of 57.59 seconds and Lynd Goldsmith of Western Australia settled tenth in 58.35 seconds.
In another race, Jemma Schlicht of Victoria and Sophie Taylor of New South Wales were tied for gold medal in the Girls 13-14 years 100m freestyle final heat with a matching time of 56.90 seconds. In the corresponding race, Sophie Taylor of New South Wales
earned bronze medal on the podium by posting a matchless time of 57.57 seconds.
Lush Stickland was placed fourth with an impressive mark of 57.60 seconds, while Chelse Gillett of Queensland earned fifth in a time of 57.86 seconds. Lucy Mcjannet of New South Wales settled in sixth in a time of 58.26 seconds, whereas, Lizzie Gannon of
Queensland was placed seventh with a mark of 58.30 seconds. Taylor Green of Queensland earned eight place honours with a mark of 58.47 seconds.
Michaela Hokin of New South Wales was placed ninth in a time of 59.33 seconds and Maggie Emmett of Western Australia settled tenth in a time of 59.56 seconds. Meg Parry of Victoria finished eleventh with a mark of 59.97 seconds, while Ella Bond of South
Australia earned twelfth in a time of 1 minute and 00.28 seconds.
Scarle Paschke of South Australia was placed thirteenth with a time of 1 minute and 00.56 seconds, whereas, Darian Murrary of Western Australia earned fourteenth spot in a time of 1 minute and 01.26 seconds. Kate Shaw of South Australia was placed fifteenth
in 1 minute and 02.28 seconds.
