Australia’s T20 skipper, Cameron White, considers the Twenty20 series against South Africa as a great opportunity for youngsters to get some experience before the Aussies embark to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 in search of
their maiden http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 World T20 trophy, in 2012.
The current T20 outfit of Australia lacks experience, most players are below the age of 26 and the 14-man T20 squad announced for the tour of South Africa includes three uncapped players, namely Matthew
Wade, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mitchell-Marsh-c1974 and Pat Cummins.
White seems content with the young guns at his disposal. The skipper of Twenty20 team wants to play as many matches as possible before the World Cup, as he deems that it will help in the team’s preparation.
Australia are set to play a total of five T20 matches before the mega event and two of these matches are against the Proteas.
Urging his side to win these two games, White said, “We definitely have to win these two games. From my point of view, with quite a young side and an inexperienced line-up, it would be nice to play some
more cricket before the T20 World Cup. The more experience you can get into younger players, the better performances you will get out of them.”
White expects the young guns to show their mettle against a strong South African side. The skipper said that the selectors have picked the best possible combination for a T20 side.
The Australians have always relied a lot on their wicket-keepers and this time around the responsibility of keeping the wickets will be shouldered by the 23-year-old http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Matthew-Wade-c1933. White speaks highly of
Wade and has utmost faith in his ability as a batsman.
“He can open the batting and he has a good power game to bat in the lower or middle order. It gives us a lot of options,” said White.
Mitchell Marsh is another rising star who has a lot to promise. The youngster will be joining forces with his elder brother http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SE-Marsh-c2470, and together the two power houses will try and decimate the opposition's
bowling brigade.
