Cameron White feels Deccan Chargers can upset Chennai Super Kings
The Australian all rounder, Cameron White, feels Deccan Chargers have the required fire power to upset the defending champions, Chennai Super Kings, when the two outfits face off each other in Chennai on Sunday, May 1, 2011.
Cameron White, the vice captain of Chargers, admitted that CSK would be a formidable side at home, as they have not beaten in a single IPL game in front of a home crowd. However, he said that the Chargers can pull off an upset victory against Dhoni and his
men in yellow if they combine their bowling and batting armouries effectively.
"We haven't won two games in a row but on Sunday is a good opportunity to do that. We lost to Kochi the other day and hopefully, we can start to go on a bit of a run", White said while talking to the media reporters on the eve of the match.
I think our bowling unit has been generally very good and if we combine our batting and bowling we're a pretty good side and a tough team to beat", the Aussie all-rounder added further.
He praised captain, Kumar Sangakkara, for his outstanding form in the tournament so far. He also lauded the performance of Bharat Chipli, and, Sunny Sohal, and hoped they will continue their dazzling form when they play the defending champions.
He said that they have a very good mix of pace and spin adding in their bowling armoury, adding that a good bowling performance from the bowlers can pose a serious threat to the hosts.
"We have a good attack of pace and spin. We have Indian bowlers, who know the conditions and of course http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Dale-c52110 Steyn, one of the best fast bowlers in the world. Amit Mishra and Pragyan Ojha will provide variety".
The victory at the M A Chidambaram stadium in Chennai will put the tourists on the same points with Super Kings and the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 Twenty20 captain said that it would be crucial for them to win the tie to keep their hopes of making the IPL playoffs alive.
Talking about the Chennai wicket, White said that the track looks pretty good and has something to offer to both bowlers and batsmen. White said that losing, or, winning the toss would not affect the match outcome as such.
