Cameron White unwary of Pakistan spinners – Cricket News Update
Australia’s former T20 skipper Cameron White on Monday played down the hype around the Pakistan spinners saying he has done well against the spin quartet in the past and is confident of doing well come the first T20 International between Australia and Pakistan,
at Dubai, on September 5.
"Against Pakistan I've had pretty good success," said the 29-year-old middle-order batsman, who has been recalled into the national T20 side for the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 series and the subsequent World T20 after a gap of almost one year.
"Saeed Ajmal, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adrian-Roger-Kirshaw-Pierson-c42135 to what I've done previously," he added further.
Australian batsmen have been left flummoxed by the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Saeed-Ajmal-c87859-led Pakistan spin attack in the ongoing three-match ODI series against the Men in Green. The formidable Australian batting line-up has clearly struggled to pick Saeed Ajmal’s off-break from his
doosra. This is the reason that the right-arm off-spinner has already picked up seven wickets in just two matches at 8.85, and conceding runs at a startling economy rate of 3.10 an over.
Ajmal has been ably complemented by fellow spinners, Mohammad Hafeez (World’s No. 1 ODI bowler), leg-spinner http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482 and left-arm spinner Abdur Rehman.
But White, a right-handed middle-order batsman hailing from Victoria, who also bowls occasional leg-break, said that he had previously done well against all of the four spinners and would not let them expose him in the upcoming three-match T20 series.
"I feel as though I'm not worried about those guys," said White, who has played 87 One Day Internationals and 29 T20 Internationals for the mighty Aussies.
"In terms of worrying about which way the ball's spinning, I feel as though I don't have too many issues with that. Hopefully they don't make me look silly."
White, who was dumped as Australia’s T20 skipper in October last year, holds an impressive record against the Men in Green, including a blistering 43 off just 31 balls in the 2010 T20 World Cup semi-final victory.
The three-T20 International series between Pakistan and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/George-Bailey-c1480, will skipper the side in the series.
