Cameron White vows to spoil Royal Challengers Bangalore’s party as well – Cricket News Update
Deccan Chargers’ vice-captain, Cameron White, is happy with his team’s performance in the match against Rajasthan Royals on Friday and expressed that that his side is geared up to dismantle Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as well.
Kumar Sangakkara opted to sit out in the match and allowed White to lead the team. Deccan is at the bottom of the points table and has no chance of moving forward in the tournament. However, the franchise is playing for pride and wants to win some matches for its fans.
Rajasthan Royals desperately needed to win against Deccan to keep their hopes alive in the tournament. However, White and company spoiled Rajasthan’s party and threw them out of contention for the play-offs.
The former T20 captain of Australia praised the performance of Dale Steyn but feels that the win over Royals was a total team effort.
"It was a good win and Dale Steyn performed well with his spell of four overs which was a big part of the game. We played well and it was nice to combine with bat and ball in this game. We lost a few games pretty badly and this is the third victory which is really nice," White said.
Deccan will play RCB tomorrow and ironically, this is a must-win game for RCB as well. The discarded Australian cricketer is all set to spoil another party in the event.
However, RCB has a strong batting line-up and it is going to be a massive challenge for the Chargers to restrict the likes of Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. The destructive left-hander from Jamaica is in great form as he smashed a thundering hundred against Delhi Daredevils earlier this week. White understands that his team will have to make a proper plan against Gayle; otherwise he has the ability to take the game away from the opposition in a short span of time."
We need to win [match against RCB] and that's our main goal. It is a modified plan which will be discussed in the team meeting. He [Gayle] is batting really well," he added.
