Camile Lecointre and Matilde Geron hold on to Women fleet lead in 470 World Championships
Second day leaders of the Women fleet Camile Lecointre and Matilde Geron continued their dominance over the rest of the participants with their impressive sailing tactics on the third day of the 2012 470 World Championships.
The pair displayed outstanding form in the scheduled race of Day 3 and were able to hold on to their overall lead with 12 points after six races, including a discard.
Third day of the races was indeed brought the most thrilling sailing competitions so far as the participants were quite determined to improve their overall positions with some higher finishes.
French sailing team of Lecointre and Geron kept their tactical play intact to hit the leading podium places in two scheduled races of third day.
The weather conditions on the Barcelona waters were a bit shifty and moderate which did not trouble the sailors at all and they were able to complete the races easily.
Weather forecast was a bit tense in the beginning of the proceedings but it turned out be favourable after the 27-boat fleet launched their boats into the waters.
From nine points after the finish of second day proceedings, Lecointre and Geron rest their voyage again. As expected, the French team showed the same determination as they did form the start of the regatta and compiled a bullet and a second position to
retain their lead over the fleet. The pair is hoping for the same form in the upcoming races.
