Camilla Lennarth rebounds in fourth round of Q School 2013
Swedish Camilla Lennarth came from behind in the fourth round of Lalla Aicha Tour School 2013 to grab the fourth position on the leaderboard.
It was a solid performance because Lennarth struggled to maintain her position in the third round that saw her shoot a 73. But she fully capitalised on the favourable course conditions in
the next round and posted a huge score further cement her fourth position.
The Swedish star reeled off seven birdies, but faltered on one hole carding a bogey. She started the round on the front nine, which proved lucky as she shot three straight birdies on the first
three holes.
She then parred the next four holes in a row and launched another birdie on the par-4 8th hole.
On the back nine, Lennarth maintained her grip on the game as she posted three birdies and a bogey on the par-5 last hole. She amazed the Moroccan spectators after she drained two straight
birdies on the 13th and 14th hole.
Sharing her thoughts while talking to the media at the end of the round on Sunday, Lennarth said that she did her best but there were some holes that troubled her along the way.
She said the course is good, but the greens are a little tricky.
“I hit a lot of fairways and greens and made some putts. I had seven birdies in total,” Lennarth said.
The fairways of the Al Maaden course are challenging, making it a bit hard for players to keep their momentum going as they played a considerably different course in the third round.
“My driving was not the best but they were on the fairway anyway. The best part today was my iron shots, so I’m happy to be where I am”.
Thai Ariya Jutanugarn, who is an amateur, displayed a superb performance throughout the day as she shot a 65 to maintain her lead on the leaderboard. Jutanugarn ramped up pressure on other
contenders in the third round after she posted a 64 to surge to the top of the leaderboard.
English Emily Taylor also overshadowed every contender because she maintained her second position in the fourth round after she carded a 67.
