Camille Muffat seizes Women’s 400m freestyle gold: 2012 French Short Course Nationals
Camille Muffat of Olympic Nice Natation seized gold medal of the Women’s 400m freestyle on third day of 2012 French Short Course Nationals on Saturday, November 17.
Muffat continued her dominance in the 16-lap discipline and overpowered her opponents over the finishing blockade for gold medal. She faced no trouble from her competitors from the start and paved her way to the wall for the crown.
With her scintillating form in the 400m race, Muffat enjoyed a comfortable lead over her following swimmer and surfaced on the finishing end for gold medal by producing a time of 3 minutes and 59.38 seconds.
The gold medallist was trailed by Lotte Friis of Denmark, who stayed nearly two body lengths behind and transpired on the finishing end as second best finisher by submitting a time of 4 minutes and 01.07 seconds.
The silver medallist was followed by Coralie Balmy of Mulhouse On, who stayed 1.06 seconds behind and surfaced on the finishing end as third best finisher by touching the wall with the timing of 4 minutes and 02.13 seconds.
Fourth fastest spot of the event was obtained by Isabelle Mabboux of AC Boulogne-Billancourt, who was nearly seven seconds slower from her preceding swimmer and surfaced on the wall with an effort of 4 minutes and 09.03 seconds.
Mabboux was chased by Coralie Codevelle of AAS Sarcelles Natation 95, who stayed 3.76 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and tapped the wall with an effort of 4 minutes and 12.79 seconds for fifth place.
Sixth spot of the event was obtained by Maeva Couade-Courtois of CN Antibes, who was 0.94 seconds behind and concluded her race in a time of 4 minutes and 13.73 seconds.
Couade-Courtois was followed by Marlon Abert of Montpellier ANUC, who stayed almost two seconds slower and clocked an effort of 4 minutes and 15.59 seconds for seventh place.
Eighth position of the race was obtained by Marie Jugnet of CN Antibes, who was two and a half body length slower and clocked a time of 4 minutes and 17.98 seconds.
Furthermore, Muffat raked medal for her notable form at the prize ceremony of the event.
