Camille Muffat wins Women’s 800m freestyle gold: 2012 French Short Course Nationals
Camille Muffat of Olympic Nice Natation won gold medal of the Women’s 800m freestyle on second day of 2012 French Short Course Nationals on Friday, November 16.
Muffat showered her expertise in the distant freestyle discipline and cruised her way towards the finishing blockade for gold medal.
With her impeccable pace, Muffat remained considerably ahead of her opponents and surfaced on the finishing wall for gold medal by producing a time of 8 minutes and 01.06 seconds.
The champion was followed by Lotte Friis of Denmark, who stayed almost 15 seconds slower and transpired on the finishing wall for silver medal by submitting a time of 8 minutes and 16.91 seconds.
Friis was chased by Coralie Balmy of Mulhouse On, who was four and a half body length behind and occupied third position of the race by reporting a time of 8 minutes and 20.54 seconds.
Fourth position of the event was obtained by Margaux Verger Gourson of AC Boulogne-Billancourt, who was more than 12 seconds behind and surfaced on the wall with a timing of 8 minutes and 32.97 seconds.
Verger was chased by her teammate, Isabelle Mabboux, who was nearly five seconds slower and concluded her race in fifth best place by touching the wall with an effort of 8 minutes and 37.67 seconds.
Sixth spot of the event was obtained by Morgane Rothon of Alliance Dijon Natation, who stayed only 0.02 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and reached the finishing wall with a timing of 8 minutes and 37.69 seconds.
Rothon was traced by Julie Berthier of Mulhouse On, who stayed exactly four seconds slower from overpowering her former finisher and touched the wall with the timing of 8 minutes and 41.69 seconds for seventh position.
Berthier was traced by Aurelie Muller of CN Sarreguemines, who was two body lengths behind and made her way to the finishing blockade for eighth position with a timing of 8 minutes and 43.50 seconds.
Furthermore, Muffat was happy with her title claiming effort and said that she will continue her efforts and try to achieve the same in future.
