Camp activity: Sea-Kayaking or Whale-Watching?

I'm going to New Brunswick for camp this summer.

and they've given me the choice between 2 activities

sea-kayaking or whale-watching

never done either of them..prob never get the chance to do either of them again..

which one should i choose..

i love nature/wildlife and would love to see whales in their natural habitat....yet i love sports and water but dont do them cuz i live in an urban city (T.O)..

i'm torn but have to choose one

  1. Here in Hawaii, I go whale watching from my kayak.  A couple days ago I even had a pod of about 50 spinner dolphins surround me!  If you plan on kayaking off shore, make sure someone in your group has a VHF Marine Radio  in case of emergency.  Don't plan on paddling if the winds are strong.  Keep your life vest and whistle (required by coast guard) handy.


  2. I'd probably go whale watching for few reasons:  1. whale watching is more expensive than kayaking,  2. Whales make beautiful photos, so bring your camera.  3.  Whales are a rarer sight than to go kayaking (which you could try at home and rent one for approx. $30/day, take lessons, etc)near your local river, lake or ocean..  

    I would love to do both, but given that we had to choose...
