i have to go to camp in about 2-3 weeks,

i hate camp, there always seems to be a problem like a friendship group fight or fake roomers get spread around like being anerexic and people talking about how gross your clothes look behind your back.

i really dont want to go but unfortunetly my parents and school are making me.

we have already got a fight about whose staying in whose cabin.

and also everytime i go to camp we do activities that have to do with height or weight etc... and i am afraid of heights and everytime there is something to do with weight i get really self concious and all the girls stare at me.

does anyone have any advice on what to do?

i really dont want to go but have too :(

  1. As for the height thing - i know what it's like to have to do something your scared of, so I have a lot of sympathy for you. I too am scared of heights, really really badly, whenever I'm high-up somewhere and I'm scared I start uncontrollably shivering and screaming - and it's a lot more shamefu for me because I'm a a lad.  Anyway one year when I went to camp one of the tasks was everyone from our group(6 people) had to climb a 75ft tree, if we all climbed it we each got a huge

prize (which turned out to be free cinema tickets).  Anyway watching everyone else climb this tree I was shitting myself, I went last and my 5 mates had climbed the tree succesfully.  I was really afraid but I didn't want to let my friends down.

I closed my eyes all the way up feeling my way to each tile and foot-hole, it took me about 45 minutes to reach the top (everyone else took 10) but all my mates were encouraging me every step, and when I knew I'd made it I was uncontrollably delighted.

My point is, if you don't do it - your not a coward.  And no-one is ever going to think any different of you.  That story I just told you was a one-off, most of the time when were doing something involving heights, I just sit-out and watch at the bottom.  And I think that everyone thinks I'm a coward, but they don't.  There's no shame in being afraid.

  2. camps can be a bummer

just get ur best mate and you two can stay together in another cabin with some randoms. but u'll still have fun together.

and as for the height thing im pretty sure u dnt have to do it.like they cant force you. my mate didnt have to climb that pole thing cause she has a huge phobia. and for weight if ur skinny wtf are u worrying about?

  3. Get your butt down there and have fun! If you have a friend you can %100 trust and they like you as much as you like them stick with them for the whole time. s***w what everyone else thinks because it doesnt matter anyway! And if anyone is a ***** to you big time just tell a teacher and they are pretty much screwed. My camp looked and crappy but i had so much fun ^)^ Tell me how it goes, i hope you have fun!!

(P.S - For the most part boys arent really concerened with outside looks and those who are, s***w THEM! They dont matter in your life, people should like you for who you are).
